Greenfield network
The warehouse required new network infrastructure rather than an upgrade to an existing environment, making early design and installation coordination essential.
Case study 05 / Fashion & logistics
Designing and deploying the network for an Australian fashion brand’s new warehouse, from the central cabinet and structured cabling through to inter-site connectivity and 50 wireless access points.
The new facility needed a complete connectivity layer for warehouse operations and a secure link back to the company’s main office. Physical installation, logical design and inter-site connectivity were delivered as one project.
The warehouse required new network infrastructure rather than an upgrade to an existing environment, making early design and installation coordination essential.
Wireless access points were distributed across the warehouse floor and cabled back to the central network cabinet with industry-compliant terminations.
A site-to-site VPN connected the warehouse with the main office, extending business connectivity between the two locations.
Architecture & delivery
A warehouse network depends on more than selecting access points. Cabinet layout, cable paths, terminations, switching, security and upstream connectivity all need to support the operating environment.
Defined the network requirements for the new warehouse, including floor coverage and connectivity back to the main office.
Designed the cabinet-centred topology and the switching, firewall, wireless and inter-site components required by the facility.
Ran cabling for 50 access-point locations across the warehouse floor, returning each service to the central network cabinet.
Completed industry-compliant terminations and organised the physical network layer around a maintainable cabinet installation.
Established a site-to-site VPN between the warehouse and main office to support secure business connectivity across locations.
The project sequence connected building works and physical installation with the configuration required to place the warehouse network into production.
Establish equipment locations, cable paths, cabinet requirements and the connection to the main office.
Deploy structured cabling, terminations and the cabinet infrastructure supporting the warehouse floor.
Configure the switching, wireless, firewall and site-to-site connectivity required for operation.
Validate the deployed network and transition the new warehouse onto its production connectivity.
A complete network foundation installed for the new warehouse.
The new facility received a structured network deployment spanning the cabinet, cabling, wireless layer and inter-site connection.
Fifty access points were cabled across the warehouse floor, with compliant terminations brought back to the network cabinet. The site-to-site VPN connected the warehouse to the main office as part of the production design.
Network infrastructure often supports the endpoint, cloud and operational systems used across a growing business.
